“Every game is a Cup Final for us now”

Those were the words of Fleet Ari Arm and Navy hooker Ben Priddey after his man of the match performance for his club side Redruth at the weekend.  Having scored a hat trick of tries to help secure a much needed league win, Ben’s focus is now firmly on regaining the Inverdale Cup from the Royal Marines

The above picture is of the Fleet Air Arm in action in earlier years. However with the forecast for further wet weather Wednesday’s final has been moved across Burnaby Road to HMS Temeraire’s artificial pitch. So all set for a fast open game of command level rugby.  Image courtesy of Binge Gatehouse

Ben Priddey in his traditional position at the back of the rolling maul will be looking to steer the Fleet Air to victory on Wednesday night. The Royal Marines were able to keep him quiet in last year’s final but like the ‘Kurnow King’ Ben is sure to head East looking to spread the word of Cornwall’s rugby might.   Image © John Walton
