Women XV Inter Service Results

The Women’s Inter Service competition started in 2003.  Prior to this the Royal Navy had played the RAF in 2002 and the Army had played the RAF in 2001.  Surprisingly this first match seemed to have taken place in Cyprus on 1st June and may well have been ten a side..  The competition has been dominated by the Army team who currently remain unbeaten.  Matches between the Royal Navy and RAF have tended to be closer although the RAF currently lead the head to head wins.  In 2011 the Royal Navy Rugby decided to award caps to the Women’s team, following the Army Rugby Union and RAF Rugby Union who were already coin so.  The original decision by the RNRU was that in order to be awarded a cap the players must have represented the RN at 6 Inter Service matches with the first eligible season being 2008/09 as well as continuously displaying core Naval Values.

The overall championship wins are listed below.
