The sunshine might be pushing things a little far but the Navy Sharks will hope to finish their season on a high when they travel west to the Newquay Surf Sevens tomorrow.  Last season they produced their best tournament of the Summer and again, this year, the Sharks squad have developed steadily over the Summer.

Sam Cuff will be looking to the likes of Greg Welling (above) to continue to show leadership to some of the youngsters that hopefully will have learnt the lessons from the West Country Sevens two weeks ago.  Occasionally passive in defence with some poor decisions in attack a number of the younger players were given a taster of the expectation at the higher level.  Saturday will be their last opportunity to show whether the lessons have been learnt.

The Sharks have again selected a side with pace throughout.  Kyle Woods will be looking to continue his try scoring form from the West Country Sevens but to achieve this the whole team need to be aggressive at the contact area.

The draw has not been the most kind to the Sharks but this may be a blessing in disguise.  An in balance in the draw means that they are guaranteed a place in the quarter finals and will play the Golden Eagles twice in the pool stage.  This gives the team some scope to experiment and iron out the wrinkles before the knock out rounds in the afternoon.
