The Commonwealth Navies Rugby Cup was first played for in 1997 and is a triennial event. This page attempts to bring together some of the competition’s history. The last Commonwealth Cup was hosted by the Royal New Zealand Navy, Devonport, North Harbour. With a 33 - 28 victory over the RN, backed up by a 26 - 5 victory over the RAN Breakers the hosts broke the Royal Navy's strangle hold on the competition and lifted the Commonwealth Navies Rugby Cup for the first time.
