Are you entitled to an International Cap?
For most Navy followers when Hong Kong play Japan on Saturday their focus will be on the Army Navy game at Twickenham. However for some who spent time on the Far East posting then the recent decision by the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union to award retrospective caps is both historic and important. The release below gives details of how to claim and naturally if any Royal Navy Rugby Union members find themselves eligible and are awarded caps Navy Rugby by Alligin Photography would be delighted to update our page of International RNRU Players.
The Hong Kong RFU release is as follows and they will be producing two caps – when from the days when Hong Kong was a colony and one for players representing the Union since 1997.
As part of the celebrations of the 60th Anniversary of the HKRFU, International Caps will be retrospectively awarded to those who have represented Hong Kong in a XVs full international match. The actual award will be an on-going process starting with two events:-· The Hong Kong v Japan match on Saturday 27 April at HKFC, and· 10 May 2013 at the Hipprodrome Leicester Square during the IRB London Sevens. We’ve gathered together as many email addresses as possible and are inviting you to submit an official ‘claim’ for your cap. All we ask is that you email back to Katherine – katherine.chan@hkrugby.com – with the following information:Name:Preferred email address:Year(s) played for Hong Kong in a full international match:Basic details of the match(es) – date(s) and opposition team(s):This will be reviewed by the appointed Committee and official confirmation sent. Don’t worry if you cant make either of the above dates, we will still get you your cap!

What good news.
There must be some former RN and RM players who qualify.
