Royal Marines to take on Peninsula Medical School in the fifth annual Medics Challenge.
Bonfire Night, the 5th November, is an appropriate choice for the fifth annual Medics Challenge, once again held at Plymouth Albion’s Brickfields Stadium. The Royal Marines, as current Navy Inter Command Champions, will be looking to make it three in a row having drawn the first match and lost the second. However the evening is far more than a simple game of rugby. It is a key fundraiser for the Royal Marines Charitable Trust and the evening will include a warm up match between Devonport Services and Ivybridge U16s, music from the Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines and also a charity auction (donations of prizes still wanted).
Full details of the match can be found at their web page Medics Rugby Challenge
The week before the Medics Challenge, the Royal Marines will be opening the defence of their 2013 Inter Command title with a home match at Lympstone of Wed 30th Oct 2013. The draw has produced a replay of last season’s final as the Corps will be hosting their fiercest rivals – Naval Air Command. A full list of the Inter Command fixtures can be found on the Community Rugby fixture dates.
