Muscian Spencer Brown was one of three musicians who represented the Navy U19s in the County Championship in 1990. Though the Navy team was out gunned in the matches Spencer’s undoubted talent shone through and it was no surprise that he was soon in the Senior XV side and winning the first of his sixteen Navy Caps. Four years after his Navy debut he was selected for the 1998 England tour of Australia and South Africa where he won his two International caps. His wing partner in his first capped game was a certain Austin Healy and on the bench for both matches was Phil Greening who is currently helping out with the Senior XV. Spencer also won international sevens honours and played in the 1997 World Sevens Series, Paris with England. Spencer finished his Navy representative career in New Zealand where he was a member of the successful 2003 team that retained the Navies Commonwealth Cup.
