Gaz Evans in Navy colours at Twickenham

Gaz Evans returns to Plymouth Albion

Following one season with Premiership side London Welsh, Navy hooker/number 8 will return to Plymouth Albion for the 2013/2014 season.  His time at Welsh was disrupted by first Navy commitments in Australia and then the knee injury he sustained in the final game of the Commonwealth Cup.  However his Inter Service displays in the Navy shirt clearly impressed Albion’s Head Coach James Shanahan.  Speaking in the local press Shanahan explained that Gaz would bring not only big match and Premiership experience back to Plymouth but also strong ball carrying skills.  Gaz has been signed primarily as a hooker with Albion currently only having two on their books.  The other hooker, Tom Cowan-Dickie is on a dual registration deal with Exeter Chiefs so Gaz may have quite a work load this year.

Plymouth Albion start their pre season on 10 June where former Navy team manager Jan Hicklin, as Albion’s Team Manager will ensure that Gaz knuckles down to the hard yards.

    Not unexpected.
Hopefully a good move for Gaz.with potentially more quality game time next season.
