Wednesday is the biggest day in the Navy Referees calendar when they descend on mass to officiate the three Army v RAF Inter Service matches being held at Aldershot. RFU Referee David Proctor will be refereeing the Senior XV match supported by two Navy Referees
His two assistants will be Society Chairman Andy Coles and Steve Woolley, above, who was last seen refereeing the RN Women v Marine National Women. Steve will be winning his Referee Colours in the process. Society Secretary Geoff Howells is the fourth official with Nigel Scott appointed as Number 5. The Army v RAF match kicks off at Aldershot Rugby Stadium on Wednesday 17 April @ 19:30
Army Veterans v RAF Veterans 13:30
Having already refereed the Army v RAF U23 Inter Service Championship match, Duncan McClement will be in the middle for the Vets match, often a feisty affair.
Duncan has had a very good season North of the border as well as officiating a L4 match on exchange with the RFU, with a second pending. He is certainly delivering on the promise that saw him win the Referee Newcomer of the Year in 2007. Duncx will be supported by the last three Admiral Royds Trophy winners. 2012 winner Ian Seaton and 2011 winner Jane Pizii will be on the touchline with 2010 winner Gaz Fairbairn at Number 4. Welshy Edwards makes up the quintet.
Army Women v RAF Women 16:00
The middle game of the three matches is the Women’s fixture where the Army Women will be seeking to remain unbeaten in the history of this competition. Geoff Howells has been appointed as referee for the match where he will be supported by Si Aldridge and Andy Harrison on the touchlines and Dave Prentice and Stu Collins as Numbers 4 & 5.
