Pub Success for Sister Services

Both the Army and the RAF Spitfires achieved success today at the National Pub Sevens.

A 29 – 14 win over Germany secured another title for the Army Sevens as they closed their summer season.  After a slow start to the summer (Bournemouth seems along time ago) the Army side have been on a roll with success at the West Country Sevens, Newquay, Cwmtawe and now the National Pub Sevens.

They were able to celebrate their success with the RAF Spitfires who won the National Pub Barrell (Plate final) with an excellent 38-5 over the Flying Lizards.  It was a good result for the Spitfires who put the disappointment of their recent trip to the Defence Sevens @ Colorado behind producing a number of good wins in the tournament.  Their sevens programme has again given a number of their developing backline valuable experience which I am sure they will bring in to the XV-a-side game.
