Tamatawale & Bishop in Bath’s colours at last nights JP Morgan 7’s.
Two more headaches for Owen Salmon as he faces the 2013/2014 season.
Remember Semesa Speechless! Last season Bath made use of the Anglo Welsh cup to give a senior debut to Army wing Semesa Rokodugni. The Army winger went on to break Navy hearts with a well taken hat trick at Twickenham as the Army clawed back the Navy’s early lead. So how to improve on a winning formula? It seems that the the Army have chosen the path of start them earlier.
Last night at the first round of Premier Rugby’s JP Morgan Sevens the Bath team fielded two of this seasons Army seven’s team. It was a deserving reward for Tam Tamatawale who is well respected as the Army’s sevens captain. In this role he has helped develop the latest newcomer in Ray Bishop and the pace he showed in taking one of his tries should make the Navy’s management sit up and take note.
The gauntlet has been laid down for another great season of Service rugby and of course the final showdown at Twickenham when all arguments will be settled. For Navy Rugby followers the chance to see which youngsters may be up for the challenge comes in September when the U23s have a run of three home games at Burnaby Rd against Chichester (22 Sep), Portsmouth University (6 Oct) and Oxford University (20 Oct).

Hi Geraint
They have an endless stream of talented players coming through the system as have the Royal Navy.
Looking forward to the U23 competition although we will be away 16 Sep – 16 Oct on holiday. Intend to be at the Ealing game.

John, Not sure which games I’ll be at with my lens but probably not quite as many as last year. Will let you know. Geraint
