I have been asked by US Portsmouth RFC to advertise that they are looking for a new head coach.  The details as provided by the club are below.





US Portmouth RFC will be recruiting a new head coach for the forthcoming 2014-15 season and beyond. Ideally the successful applicant will be at a level 2 coaching standard or working towards it (The club will assist with the qualification) Attend training on Tuesdays & Thursday evenings 7pm – 9pm and Saturday afternoons on match days.

We offer the best facilities available within the area. Including a fully maintained representative standard level playing pitch with spectator stand, 3G all weather pitches and a professional physiotherapy facility.
The Head Coach will lead the coaching team and will be appointed by and report to the DOR
Roles and Responsibilities
To lead the coaching team responsible for the senior squads.
Plan the coaching programme for the season.
Plan, prepare and deliver individual coaching sessions.
Ensure that sessions are designed to develop the skills and understanding of the players in the squad.
Evaluate all coaching sessions and games with the coaching team and players.
Attend all coaching sessions, matches and selection meetings.
Mentor and advise assistant coaches where appropriate.
Provide support to individual player development.
Provide feedback to coaches and players.

The club can offer expenses to the successful candidate, which can be negotiated.

The successful candidate will be following in the foot steps of the father of English coaching, former US Portsmouth, Royal Navy and England fly half WJA Davies
